Default 2006 Grand Touring

Just traded in my 04 350 automatic for a 6 sp 06 Grand Touring. Won't get it til April. Can I pull my Borla Cat back from the 04 automatic and put it on the 06 stick? Also the injen cold air ind. will be swapped. Next step is the plenum. Can I go with the spacer or the full upper plenum? I don't want to sacrifice the stabilizer bar. Thanks

The intake/exhaust should swap on fine. As for the plenum, if you get a larger one that makes the factory stabilizer bar not work, you can get an aftermarket bar (such as Crawford's) so you still have one.

Does anyone know if the plenum on the 06 is one of the 35 new modifications?

The lower plenum is different. The upper plenum, AFIAK, is identical.

That's such a nice model, the GT. I know you are going to love that one.

You shouldn't have a problem switching over your old intake and exhaust to the GT. As for a spacer, I would recommend getting the motordyne 5/16" MREV spacer kit for your car. It's basically the standard 5/16" spacer combined with a modified lower plenum (basically the lower plenum from the 03-04 models). from what I've read and heard from Tony from Motordyne, using a standard spacer without modified runners on the REV-UP engines will produce negligible gains. using the MREV kit, you lose 2-3 HP up top, but gain 15+ hp in the low to mid range. If you want to see more of it, you should check out www.motordyneengineering.com for more info or call performance nissan of duarte (www.mynismo.com). Ask for Andy; he has the REV-UP engine and the motordyne MREV kit, he can tell you about the gains. Hope this helps. Enjoy your new GT btw

Also forgot to mention; using the motordyne 5/16" mrev kit also allows you to keep your stock strut bar and engine cover; a plus when you're trying to keep a stealth engine profile. The spacers also help with low and mid range gains on FI if you ever decide to go that route.

rersponse to ? from J3rzeyFlip - I actually made out better with the trade in than with an outright buy. Probably because I only have 18,000 mi. on the car with stock Z chromed wheels, nismo type rear spoiler and super clean car!

Has anyone ordered a 2006 and received it yet? How long did it take from the date of order?

Actually picked mine up today, but mine wasn't ordered. It takes 6-8 weeks to get it from the factory to your dealership.

You must have took a huge lose. Did you know that the GT is 250lbs more then the 04 you had? I dont think its worth the lose.
