Question Dyno with auto trans

I did a search and could not find how to keep trans in 4th gear and not down shift at low RPM? I know this was talked about a long time ago.

I assume you mean run the trans in manual mode, this does not keep it from down shifting below 3800 RPM.

If you dyno on a load base dyno . You can run it in third . You can get to WOT by 3200rpm with out it down shifting . We do use manual , but it will still down shift

Mine never downshifts at WOT

You must be doing something else than a standard DYNO run, I'm lost...

Try putting the car in third and get the rpm's at around 1500 to 2000rpm's . Then floor it without hesitation....it will down shift . If it doesnt..there is some thing wrong.

In automatic it does immediately, but if I'm in manual, it doesn't...

Mine doesn't downshift at WOT. But there are several different versions of the tranny programming for different years.

I dyno my car like that, so I know for sure it doesn't...

Maybe it has something to do with the different Valvebodies ....

I had my trans program re-done by dealer and old and new program cause it to down shift at low RPM in manual. I was not able to tune below 3500 before which made car slugish of the line. I have the E-manage ultimate now and want the best tune I can get!
