Do you guys know what is the size socket for the lug nuts on the exhaust manifold. I had a shop do the installation of headers in my car and I want to recheck the lug nuts to make sure they are still tight. I was just wondering if is possible to re-tight the lug nuts from the engine compartment and what you guys think will be the best tools to use.

What shop did the install for you? I am in San Antonio as well. When I get home from work this evening, I will pull the information you need from the service manual, but I am pretty sure they are 14mm nuts. They may have been bigger so I will definitely check for you this evening.

As far as tightening from the engine capartment is concerned, you will be able to get most of them from there, but you will need to get a few towards the rear from under the car. If memory serves me correctly, if you want to get the front drivers side ones, you may need to move the air conditioner.

Are you getting an exhaust leak at all? I would imagine so if you are looking into checking them all again. If not, don't bother. Not worth your time just making sure they are at spec.

I was just wondering that maybe the heating and cooling of that area could loose the nuts a little bit. This might explain the lack of performance that I fill in my car. I dyno my car with all the mod's I have name on my signature and all I got was 242 HP on a dynojet.

actually, it's the opposite. All that heat will practically mold the nut into place. It took me 5 hours to take the bolts of my stock cats. exhaust leak is definitely a possibility... or maybe you're running too rich.. post your dyno..

More likely you need a tune.

+1 show your dyno, specifically AFR...

also you might want to invest in a cipher to datalog AFR, timing, injector pulse, etc. Then you will know exactly what is happening and whether a tune could help you.

I'm thinking about a cipher very soon...

The whole damn car can be disassembeld using a few sizes. 10mm, 12mm, 14mm, 17mm, and 19mm. Its one of those and my bet is 14mm.

should be 14mm. but a 9/16" is nearly identical to 14mm too.
