Default 11 second 350z, newb.

Hello everyone. I introduced myself as a new owner already. had the 350z for 3 days now and love it!! I have some questions and hope some of you can help steer me in the right direction.

Formerly I owned a 2003 Cobra that was a low to mid 11 second car 510 at the wheels.

Sadly it caught fire and was torched and totalled lol, that being my 6th mustang i said im done, and bought the car i thought looked bad *** lol.

My main concern is how do I get this car to 11's?

Can i use the stock motor to break into 11's with the mods u tell me?

With the cobra the motor was stock as well as trans, and it just needed a clutch replacement.

I love the Z to death, and need advice . Whats the fastest way to get into 11's with nitrous thanks! Safest and decently priced on stock motor?

Do twin turbos have more potential? im a import newb sorry lol. convert this domestic muscle.

Ive run 11's with less than 400whp and so so launches, with a launch 11.7 would have been possible. Another member on the boards has gone 11.8 with 125-150 shot and bolt-ons-both of us on stock motor. Going with any turbo kit is a risk on this car-even when set up corretcly its a 50/50 shot. Good luck, I suggest you do some research in the FI and N20 section of th eboards and decide whats best for you

Ya, im going to stay away from nitrous, i was scared of it when i had the cobra lol. I wanted high 10's but nono, didnt wanna blow anything lol.

Anywho i been looking at this forum on FI for the past 3 or 4 days. Cant really make up my mind. I hear the the twins are blowing the motors. I def plan on building a new motor after i do a FI mod on my own. But for now I want a good 11 sec car. I always wanted that BOV sound lol, the supercharger always screamed for blocks lol. I believe that the vortech is safe but its quiet and i dont get that BOV sound either lol., but the vortech setup should put me into the 11's right? At the moment i'm not looking to spend more then $5000 including install
But if its worth spending another 1k or 1.5k let me know. after I reach 11's ill go into other mods.

5k isnt gonna cut it for FI..

I would say the bare minimum is 10k (inc. installation)

If you want to build your motor and go TT, you should set aside ~20k

Well, for $5000 your not going to get into the 11's unless you use nitrous, slicks and weight reduction.

My plan for 11's:

Built short block-$3500
Turbonetics stage 1.5 or 2 kit-$6000-$7000
Carbon clutch-$1500-$2000
Gages and misc.-$1000
Shop axles with drag wheel/tire set up-$1300

For a total of about $15,000 without LABOR
Actually, if the stage 2 is in this price range than this set up might be good for 10's which is sick.

If your going to drag the car a bunch I would build the bottom end up when you go F/I because if you ruin your stock block than your gunna pay big.

Buy a turbonetics tuner kit fuel return EMS and some slick also a clutch and flywheel you should be around 10k also a wideband and boost gauge. The worst thing about the Z is breaking the N/A to FI barrier from their things don’t get easy but slow a bit down IMO.

Tunrer Kit Turbonetics. Pratice, pratice, pratice research as much as you can and use your better judgement on the kits, installer and tuner. Be safe and welcome to this world.

10K INSTALLED? MAN HAMMOND U GOT RIPPED OFF.

Anyways if u want 11's just get turbonetics tuner kit single turbo

tuner kit is about 4500
get some injectors another 550
utec $850
gauges 400
1500 install and tune

7800 total give or take should be doing 11's with some good tires/slicks.. how long that will last on stock internals is another thing

For your price range right now yes its the cheapest way to go and the kit performs. You could also get a TT but performance is not going to be much of difference or non at all. The tt install is a little more expensive since their is more work done to it.

What guages you selling him for $400?? The TN kit from an "authorized" dealer is more than $4500
You also forgot a return fuel system, Map sensor for the UTEC, and a clutch plus install..FYI if your gonna try and sell your stuff here at least get your pricing on par with the rest of the sponsored vendors.
