Default NA Engines

Porshe get 415hp out of 3.6L engine. What is the most we can expect to get from the 3.5L Nissan NA engins?

Only 300hp....if a prelude can go from 200hp (160whp) to 312hp (260whp), then a 3.5L V6 can do more than that. I doubt alot of people have completely redone the motor (port&polish, valvetrain, cams, bore and stroke, pistons, crank, etc) for NA setup. With all that and your typical bolt ons, you should be able to hit at least 450hp (360whp) easy.

It all depends...

Sunbelt built a number of VG30DE engines that made around 410 hp with dual 25mm restrictors for an ALMS LM2 car. Unrestricted I think a VQ35 could do about 530 hp or more depending on whether the engine is for qualifying or racing.

There are several people on the boards that have done a complete NA build up, I think I have seen numbers around the 380 rwhp range.

I searched and could not find one. And I have yet to see a dyno chart that showed over 300 NA at the wheels

Trust me, its there. You need to search harder. One of the guys on here that has his completely built engine including stand alone engine management is from Austrailia and is one of our customers. I myself am making 292rwhp completely NA with no internals on a Rev Up engine.

True but Porsche did not get 415 horsepower out of a 3.6 liter engine for $28,000 (350Z base). Give Nissan engineers an additional $100,000 to work with and I bet they can match 415 horsepower.

It's really not a question as to how much, but rather is it possible?

he told you how to find the info, use the search function. The individual in question is an Aussie. If you search for Motec and kw you just might find him.

If I had the time and money, I would definitely go the NA route and push for as much HP as I could safely get. It's definitely possible to add at least 50 to 75 more HP without going FI.
