Default Whistling On Freeway Around 75mph??

I just bought and 04 z and it makes a few different noises from my wrx i had previously.

First off the chattering at idle with clutch out but i found out thats the flywheel or tranny and its normal.

But im curious to what the whistling is when im doing about 75 on the freeway. It only does it when i step on the gas, when i let off it goes away, hit the gas and it does it again.

Is this the tranny also? Its still under warranty so please help. thanks you.

Mods - JWT clutch/flywheel, injen intake, strup headers/test pipes, injen exhaust, 20's.

Thanks

ok well tonight i went out for a drive and im pretty sure its not the intake. when i barley touch the gas it makes a loud whistle/whining i guess you can say its a "whooooooooooo" sound really loud and its the same pitch and just as loud no matter how hard you press on the gas, right when i let off it goes away.

Should i take it into nissan to get the tranny checked or what else could it be because it sounds like its right under me.

only has 17,500 miles on it.

once again:

If you're only hearing at highway speeds (65+) it could be the diff. The diff will make some noise, some are worse than others. If it's really bad it could have been shimmed incorrectly, or could be low on fluid. If you want to try a cheap/quick fix you can add some slip additive, which can quite it down some. If it's low you'll probably notice a clicking/clacking noise when turning at low speeds, while accelerating.

This isn't necessarily you prob, but it sounds like you weren't convinced with the CAI, so it's another option to consider.

Good Luck

Here you go. https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....smission+noise

This one has been discussed a few times in the past. No one seems to know for sure what the noise is or where it comes from. Many owners have had transmission replacements, changed out fluids, tried various lubrications and even changed out rear seals all to no avail. It seems to be just a very annoying noise that we learn to live with. Some owners seem to have it worse than others. This is probably what you are experiencing versus the intake. If you get it checked by the dealer report back what they come up with. Always interesting to see what they say.
