Guys,
Is it possible to reflash VB in 5AT tranny?
I have a spare VB, which is (or was) locked in SafeMode (4th gear). I had to replace it altogether with the new VB a while ago.
The VB is mechanically sound, so presumably it is a software issue. I wonder whether it would be possible to revive it somehow and use as a meat for VB upgrade?

 

Ive never heard of this before . But if it is in some kind of safe mode . It would have to do with the TCM and that would have to be reset , not the VB

 

Actually TCM is part of VB. Here is the actual pic. The black stuff in the middle is the TCM and it seems inseparable from the rest.

 

i'm not 100% certain about this but I think that was only true for 2003. Now they are separate.

 

As far as I know, it is actually vice versa. 2003 was separate and starting from 2004 it is integrated. The one in the pic is removed from my 2004 Touring.

 

Yes ...didnt think about that . I have a 03 G35 and mine is seperate from the tranny . I have had mine flashed by the dealer .
