are the solid mounts made out of metal? and how long to install. im just concerned that if i shift a little rough im going to hurt another part on the car. And how much more vibration you feel inside?

just installed the e/dampener, the replica one, not stillen....will report back in a few days......if it lessens my 1-2 and 2-3rd nothcie shifts, it'll be worth it.....
a little off topic, where's the guideplate and can we adjust that? read somewhere that the shifting notchieness can be attributed to this guideplate? thanks.

I dont know exactly where it is, but its somewhere right at the base of the shifter once you remove the console and all that junk.

please let us know if your 1-2 and 2-3 shifts are better. I have a 5AT with a 3.5 FD, I am seriously considering doing this mod, but I want it to be worth it...how much labor time to install??

A lotta discussion about solid mounts in here, but I just gotta say again, now that I have driven several hundred miles with the ED, the difference in shifting is night and day. Not sure how much it would benefit an AT, but for me this alone was worth the price/time for the mod.

Yeah I shift manually though, there is like a one second delay...(i know a valve body would help) but looking to help even more with this...also save some power loss with the engine shifting...u notice that??

Can't really say about the savings to drivetrain loss, I put this in the night before I had my Utec installed and tuned. FWIW, my tq numbers are higher than I have ever seen from my car, and were as high before the tune, but I'm sure the cooler weather had as much to do with that as anything. The car was already pretty responsive before the ED though, so I can't really say I noticed, but overall it is much more pleasurable to drive. I'd be real curious to see how this helps you.

Won't help w/ that delay. that's a valvebody/electronics issue.

I've seen this done for years w/ v8s. Most typically use a turnbuckle though. I've even seen cable and chain used but there's no adjustablity using that method.

Heh, after tune I had only maybe 4-5 whp gain and lost 1 ft/lb peak tq. The area under the curve had gains in each though and tq curve got flatter. This is on top of a reflash so tuning just refined the setup. The Utec wasn't really needed yet, but I will have more use for it as the mod list grows.
