RevUp Oil Consumption TSB and discussion
well this tsb sucks for me....because according to it, my v2 that i thought was working out for me, meets its "NO GOOD" area on its graph =(
its been 2200 miles and im past half.
if this is their stipulations for whats an OCing revup....then their "real" revised revup must be perfect. but i really hope i dont have to get a v3 cuz ill cry.

I have the v2 and got it by going through the process and filing the final repair attempt paperwork.
Since this is their final repair attempt, then a No Good reading gives me a ton of power for a replacement vehicle.
The dealer also insisted that it was full when I went in (not sure what they did, but I saw it and it was at the H). Well, 1300 miles later, I am down 15mm. The only real issue is getting an honest reading out of a dealer. That can easily be taken care of with a camera.

I'm having another oil consumption test right now. I took it this morning and will be bringing it back after another 1,000 miles.

Why has this thread been un-stickied? Will a mod please revert it into a sticky? Having the TSB as a sticky is great but this thread is about a lot more than that. I have found other users' experiences and tips very beneficial.

Hi Guys / Gals. I thought it might be helpful to some folks if the "Allowed Oil Consumption" was mapped proportionally to the "DipStick". So I drew this up in Visio...

Three reasons I feel it's still important:
1- Us G ppl haven't received this OC TSB win.
2- This thread has a running update with the success rate of the V2 that ZeeForce has so diligently kept going from members updates.
3- Is there or will there be a V3 released at a later date.
Administrators/Moderators...please reconsider.

The oil consumption chart allows 1 qt per 3750 miles.
or
The oil consumption chart allows 0.133 qt per 500 miles.
Your dipstick refers to the 8 intervals, after 1st the maximum allowed consumption is about 0.133 qt (2mm), after 2nd interval the allowed consumption is about 0.266 qt (6mm), after 3rd it´s about 0.399 qt (8mm) and so on...

I took my 2003 G35 in today, and it was 3 quarts low in 1000 miles. They tried to tell me to take it in for a FOURTH time, but I said 3 1000 mile tests is enough. First one = 2 quarts low. Second = 1.5 quarts low. They want me to bring in the receipts of the service records. Fortunately the service has been done at Infiniti/Nissan dealerships.
Are you guys sure the hashed area on the dipstick isn't (1) quart? I always thought it was...

My Z burns exactly one quart every 1000 miles. So at that point, when I check the dipstick, it is at exactly half. I add a quart and it comes to exactly the H mark. Never fails.
Dipsticks are not meant to be linear.
