Yes I will give then a chance to fix/swap out the motor. I'm taking the red oil-burner in on Monday...to start the process.

My concern was the same as yours. That they would just "dumb" us down to the 287.

Only a dyno will tell, but this thing seems to be really strong. It also seems louder. Maybe it is me just going crazy over this whole thing.

Then again, it could be that I had to drive around in a 2007 Altima 2.5 that they gave me for three days.

That's great news. I suppose you will have to break it in for the next 1200 miles. Please keep us posted. If it burns oil I know you will be back, but don't forget us if it works out fine. Thanks.

Nope. No break-in needed per Nissan. Not that I drive it all that hard anyways.

Actually, doing the break-in on the previous engine did it no good.

I will certainly keep everyone updated. If I don't stick around here, what else am I going to do at work.

That's the idea. This is supposed to be the fix to end of all oil consumption. If it fails to fix it, then Nissan is down for the count.

I doubt it. I think it will be for people that are coming in and making some noise. It will certainly be the fix for people that issue the Final Repair Notice.

I am sure you will, but please keep us posted as to any consumption you experience with the new engine. Here's hoping there is none!

Well. It is at the L after 150 miles. I am assuming the dealer F'd up although the work order says they added 5.6 Qts. I picked up a couple quarts a minute ago to top it off and see.

Damn, let's hope it was dealer fill error!

Here we go again... sorry to hear it. You should be letting Nissan add the oil so it's documented.
