Mid117 let me know what they tell you and we can compare notes. Im opened a case with the BBB as well. Also, called Nissan customer service today and complained. I agree that not having a solution is unexceptable.

Guys, Just remember there are dealerships that don't know what's going on, are not up-to-date, and are not helpful. There are also dealerships that are right in the mix of things and supportive of you versus NNA(who reimburses the dealership for warranty work). And there are all the dealerships in between these two extremes.

New people: read this thread, regularly check your own oil, keep a diary of all consumption problems and have your dealership give you copies of their tests and measurements. Check the oil yourself before going to the dealership for tests or oil changes AND after you leave the dealership. Make the service manager aware of any discrepancy and have them note it in your records.

This is the true meaning of affirmative action and those with excessive problems will get the satisfaction due.

I just got off the phone with Nissan Corp. The sad thing about all this is they will not do anything unless they are backed in a corner. They know the problem exist and they aren't being pro-active. I have to say there must be alot more 350z's out there with this problem then we realize.

I am new here....have a 06 Z with 6mt and revup engine....have 14000 on my Z which I bought march 2006. When I first checked my oil before my first oil change at 3750miles I was shocked to find no oil at all on the dip stick. Like an idiot I added 1.5qts to fill it up instead of taking it directly to the dealer. With 14000 miles my oil consumption is now about 3/4qt every 3000miles which I thought was bad until I read the last 47 pages of this thread.... now feel I shouldn't complain. After mentioning the high consumption in a customer satisfaction survey from nna I was contacted by Maurice at nna who directed me to take my z to the dealer for 2 consecutive oil changes (3000 miles apart) so they could gather data..... the second of which is being done right now. I ensure the dealer documents the issue on the paperwork so if I have to use the lemon law I am prepared.......thanks for all the info here....

That is what they are doing. My advice would be take it in three times and get the documentation showing it was down each time and then file the Final Repair Attempt. That is when they seem to start taking things seriously.

Sure thing...I haven't opened a case with BBB...only with NNA.

Atlantic Nissan has some of the coolest/most understanding service writers there...not gonna get all "lawyer" on them.

I have to bring it in sometime this week, it's been 1000 miles already. Stay tuned for updates...

count me in. Sometimes people got to force companies to do things the hard way. my Dealer is acting all stuped as if there is nothing wrong with the car meanwhile its eating 1quart/1k miles. i opened a case with NNA, and now they acting like they dont know squat. i spoke to the representative of my case and even tho i been complainin about my oil since my first 3k miles nothing has been done yet. So no more mister nice guy. 9385 miles on the car. BBB Contacted and i threatened with Lemon law lawsuit and pieces started moving.

Default It is going down hill!

Well I took my car into Courtesy Nissan Monday morning. My engine replacement was supposed to take two to three days. I got a call from the service writer on day three (Wednesday) telling me he screwed up and the engine guy that does the engine swaps is at school. According to the BBB letter sent to NNA they were supposed to be threw with repairs on Wednesday the 6th. So now I am Pissed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hear the tapping. Low oil could cause that. Take it in for repair and don't take any crap!!!

Default ***Update***

Ok, brought it to the dealer this morning, after 1000 miles after oil change.

I was 1 quart low on oil. They told me it was the PCV valve and they replaced that. wtf.

We'll see if that worked or not, I'll bring it back in another 1000 miles.

Question: They say they "marked" everything...does that mean they know if I touched anything?

I don't know if I'm buying this....what do you guys think?

Yes they marked everything to see if you are messing with the car. The pcv valve would be an attempt to fix so make a record.
