I thought that that advice is basically worthless because usually it's too late to break in the car like that given the 20+ miles or so that are already on your car when you buy it new. (My car had like 100 miles on it when I bought it.)

Unless of course you just got a brand new built motor...

In any case, I just followed the owner's manual recommendations and my motor seems to be running great.

Not new to me Sharif.....OLD NEWS. I didn't see it stickied and have answered a bunch of questions on this several times. That's the reason for this post.

Have been riding bikes for 16 years and have used a similar method since I could change oil. Same thing with cars....since Dec. 93.

Me and Roast are square, so its all good.

Yeah like Nissan is going to put in the manual "go out and the beat the living chit out of the car for a good break in." That's a lawsuit waiting to happen.

LOL...

Honestly, I bet the lawyers are the ones that write the OEM break-in procedure. It's more to cover their *****, in the event that something was not put together correctly correctly from the factory. They also want customers to get used to their cars, for about 1000 miles....before telling them its safe to beat on the cars.

bingo. it's all about limiting warranty work. Nothing wrong w/ doing it the OEM way. You just won't get every last bit of power out of it.
