Ok time for action
I got tired of all of this oil consumtion stuff with my car and everybody else who is having problems with their Z's and posting about it and decided I'm going to finally get off my a$$ and get the ball rolling on this BS engine.
Since I'm pressed for time with work and reading this forum HA, all I have done is e-mailed the Envirmonetal Protection Agency the following. We'll see what they say.
***I will try to make a long story short here. Last February I bought a brand new Nissan 350Z. There are 2 different engines available for the car. The automatic transmission model has a 289HP motor and the 6 speed manual transmission has what they refer to as the "rev up" motor, which makes 300HP. I have the 300HP "rev up" engine. I have been a registered user with my350Z.com for almost 2 years now. Many of us who own the "rev up" motor are having major issues with our engines burning up 1 quart of oil every 1,000 miles or MORE! In some cases much more. I had the dealer do oil consumption testing on my car. They did three 1,000 mile checks on the oil usage. First 1,000 miles I used .6 a quart, second 1,000 miles I used 1.5 quarts and on the final test I used .75 of a quart for an average of 1 quart of oil per 1,000 miles. The car does not leak a drop of oil. It is all going out the tail pipe. Under factory warranty they replaced the short block, which has not fixed the problem with me or many other people with the same problem. A brand new $30,000 car that pollutes 1 quart of oil into the air every 1,000 miles, is insane. Most people put about 12,000-15,000 on their cars annually which means that 3 to almost 4 gallons of oil is being entered into the air by our faulty cars alone. I want to know what you guys think about this whole matter? Should I file a lawsuit with Nissan? Thanks for your time and I hope to hear back from somebody soon. Chad ____***

Expecting the EPA to efficiently handle anything beyond shutting down a Mom and Pop Grocery for fermented Vegitables in the dumpster is like asking the Special Olympics Contestants to do an evaluation on Global warming and its effects on the mating habits of the Wombat.

LOL. I don't expect them to do anything, I just want to know what they think about what's going on.
Well, Keep us up to date on they're recommodations---- I have a feeling that it will be along the lines of an additional Catylitic Converter sysyem mounted on a Radio Flyer Wagon to be pulled behind all 06s.

see if there is any record of emissions system defects or recalls on
this vehicle; there are none. It is my understanding there could be
reasons for oil emissions from a high performance V6 engine that are
unrelated to the emissions system. For example, you may want to
consider checking the clearance on the valve stem seals or valve
guides.
Additionally, you may want to check with the California Air Resources
Board (ARB), which implements California emissions standards for motor
vehicles produced and sold for the California market, to see if there
is
any ARB record of emissions system defects related to this issue. (I
assume from your area code that you are a California resident and that
your vehicle is likely subject to California emissions standards.) You
may want to call Gene Sato, copied on this message, to discuss your
question. He is a field representative supervisor for ARB's Mobile
