Best bet is a pumpkin swap, don't waste your $$$ trying to do the swap with parts unless your going with a clutch type and then get the Nismo since it comes with all the required parts.

when you mean pumpkin swap, you mean just replacing the whole dif. correct? or do you still need the stubs?

From what I understand you need a full pumpkin with output stubs. The nismo kit comes with everything you need.

you need the pumpkin and the stub axles (usually they are already inserted in the diff when you buy a used one), and that's it. Easy swap!

what exactly do you need when going from a base (open diff) to a non-nismo aftermarket LSD?

Stub axles ment for a LSD equipped car. New bearings and seal's would be a very good idea while the diff is apart.

Get the Quaife LSD and save your self headaches. It is a direct drop in for Base model Z.
