Default Pennzoil Synchromesh

Has anyone used this in there trannies? I used it in my old JDM MX6 and it was the best feeling transmission that i've ever driven and it was a 93. Shifted sooooo smooth. It had the bronze synchros. Does anyone know if this is rated GL-4 or GL-5? I know GL-5 is supposed to eat yellow metals like bronze, but i had bronze in my mx6 and like it said.. it was amazing. I would like to know before i try it on my 350z because my mx6 was a bit less expensive.

Another mx-6 to 350z converter... lol welcome to the club.

I dont know if syncromesh is GL-4 and GL-5 rated, but I know the RP is, and so is the motul gear 300, which alot of people like on here, as well as Red Line. I personally have motul gear 300 in my tranny and diff, and I like it alot. Alot of people really rave over Royal Purple though.

GL-5 from what I hear, is strict rules on the lubrication but not so strict on the contamenates in the oil, where GL-4 is strict on the contamenates and not on the lubrucation. So the GL-5 has too much sulfur in it which is bad for the yellow metals, but it is possible to meet both GL-4 and GL-5 standards. I could be wrong though.

GL5 is an additive use in oil that use alot of gear pressure like hypid gears found on differerential actually trannys has hypoid gears except reverse.GL4 is good for trannys, thats what I read maybe I am wrong .

The Pennzoil Sychromesh information sheet says that it is compatible "with yellow metals, such as bronze, brass and copper" so therefore, it matches the description above about GL-4

Horry - noun The state of being, where there is an urgency and something scary simultaneously. (Ex. I was in a horry to leave when I saw the monster ripping out heart after heart of everyone at the party.)
verb. To act with urgency during a scary event. (Ex. Horry up, get out of that room!)
