so the 07's aren't actually faster with the extra power though they're close in weight? +/- 40lbs -whatever it is.

Not an '07. Look at the hood.

Also remember WHERE C&D tests their cars --- usaully at higher elevations in the heat....they always run slow times and suck at launching
I tend to give more credibility to the real world stats on time slips as long as all the info is on it
When you know the true elevation of the track and temp and humidity you can get an accurate look at the ET's and traps
Sea Level vs 3000ft is a big difference in ET ---- all things being equal almost 4-5 tenths difference for an NA car
If you look at the traps though the Z gets a higher trap speed after every round of power improvements --- even with the extra weight that means more power is being created for sure.....104 trap stock is nice
With a strong clutch and sticky tires I'd like to see what an 07 will do in cool temps at a sea level track....

The Car and Driver article was a misprint. It was actually an 06 and I refuse to go through the entire explanation. If your interested just search as its been said numerous times.
Btw the best stock 07 Z time is now down to 13.45 sec.....

I should have my dyno sheet scanned shortly.. but my best pull today on a stock 07 HR was 260whp/235tq on a dynojet. Not too bad really.. Right after that I installed the nismo exhaust though lol and crawford cats monday... I'll re-dyno then and post a sheet to see what's up..
Either way this car is a lot of fun!
though it' a gas guzzler!

^^^ It's only a gas guzzler cause you're a lead foot! Like me
I will have my 2007 HR dynoed soon as well with before and after test pipes. PLEASE post the results after Nismo exhaust and crawford cats...Ive been waiting to see the results of previous years exhaust mods with the new 07 Z. I cant wait.

Yeah but you guys have all the mods... we have exhausts/cats..
When a pop charger or cai comes out for the car, I'll run that as well but that's bout it for power.. i just want a car that handles badass... so my work is focusing on subframe, sway, strut bracing, and full suspension + wheels/tires.. then safety, then exterior, then power if i ever decide to go that route..
And yes I have a lead foot and I live in stop/go traffic... just ask nextstage.. it's hell out here in houston traffic
and he's boosted!

Guys,
Doesn't anybody remember that all the close up pics of the car they tested look like 06 without the bulge in the hood? Car and Driver took the exact same numbers from the 06, they have never tested the 07. I had an 06 and now an 07 and i will tell you first hand it pulls harder.
