lol damn I wanna see someone do what I just saw done on Pimp My Ride...put a Duramax Diesel in 65 Impala, turbo'd it and used BioDiesel...1400hp/tq and 25mpg ftmfw. Talk about different. Damn thing embarassed a new Lambo when they finished it.
I spent all weekend driving a C12-equipped 6-wheel drive 15.1 ton truck.
1600 lb/ft
425 hp
doesn't exactly haul ***, but you can tow pretty much anything smaller than an M1 Abrams.
I have the license for the low deck, but we burned it down in Iraq when the **** broke.

Me and Julian friends?!?! God NO
Seriously Julian from MRC is actually very supportive of my project (bullsheet)
I have no problems racing Julian or Dave (WTF no Turbo...another friend of mine).....it'll be fun to watch them in teh rear view.....and Julian is right...the only way I could win a race w/o a motor is to get towed by a ferrari with a turbo!!!!!
Once my LSX is in......all i can say is "WELCOME TO THE CHINA CLUB *****ES!"
Julian's biggest disadvantage is his horspower to weight ratio

My friend runs mickey thomsons on his grand nation for his daily driver.
It's an expensive habit, it's worth it to some people I guess.

I just got through the 17 pages of this thread! Outstanding. I will be in line for 09.
Noah, all I can say is Hoosier R6's and Porsche ceramic big brake kit!!!

My Z is still NA and I was hoping I could find someone to drop in an LS2 last year this time, but decided to focus on aero and suspension first. What mods can I do now in the interim that aren't throw-aways that would be good building blocks towards the eventual LS2/LS3/LS7/LSX swap? For example, 350Evo 3.91 gears with a NISMO GT LSD. BBK. What else?

you are on the right track....your cooling system, clutch etc will all be address with the swap so most mods in that department will be wasted. I would reccommend an LSD, 3.9 gearing, suspension and braking mods as they will all be necessary when u go LS. I will have a better and more accurate list once my car is actually nearing completion.
i don't see y you would want a 3.9 fd unless all ur doing is drag racing. look at the z06, it has really tall gearing, 60 in 1st, and its making about half the power ur car will, if anything go to 3.3 not 3.9, all it will do in make 1st completely useless, and i mean comletely useless with all the torque u'll be making.

For me, I think I would want 3.9 gears to get more scoot out of the corners when I am out on the track. I do not run any road course tracks that have first gear corners and the longest straight away I run at is maybe .5 miles. Right now the way it is, I never see 6th gear out on the track and some tracks I only put it in 5th when I want to give my motor a "rest" in revs for a few seconds on their straight away before getting back on it hard for the rest of the lap. There are different schools of thought on this to be sure...
