Default Oil, 0w-30?

whats the pros and cons of 0w-30, i live in a warm climate that rarely gets below 20 degrees and i read that 0w-30 gives the best hp and torque than 5w or 10w. whats the reall difference? which should i use? thanks also, how much longer does synthetic oil last vs normal oil?

Amsoil TSO 0w-30 is good stuff. The 0w just means it is thinner when cold and is better for your car at cold startup. Once the oil warms up it's the same weight as other 5w-30's.

Castrol Syntec 0W-30 (european version) is a true synthetic that appears to work well with the VQ and available at Autozone for a good price.

GC is a good oil but almost a 40 weight oil in thickness which will give you worse MPG and feel more sluggish compared to lighter weight oils.

so 0w30 is pretty much the same as 5w30, but 0w30 is better for cold starts? Why doesnt nissan just use 0w30 then?

5w-30 is easier to find, almost every oil company has a 5w-30 while 0w-30 is very rare. Some Audi's come with 0w-30 from the factory and that is the recommended viscosity.
