2) I live in Memphis, and while installing the grounding kit noticed there are a TON of bolts holding on the intake manifold and Im lazy, so how much would installation run?

3) Why not just put spacers between the strut tower brace and the suspension points to lift it over the manifold? Hood clearance issues or what?

Thanks.
It is truly a do it yourself job. I know Doug has said in the past there is no installation charge for this piece, but I would not hold him to it. If you what us to install it for you (requires you to drive to Nashville) I would be more than happy to help you or do it for you. It can be done in the 45-75 minute range, depending on if you have air tools . . . certainly not required to do this job.

You do lose the strut bar (hood clearance), but there will be a replacement if you would like to purchase that as well. From our tests the car does not push in the corners as bad with it off, but everyone is entitled to have the car handle as they wish. Personally I do not want to go with out it, but thats just me.

And to add to what VandyZ has pointed out about the bar...

The G35C doesn't have one at all, if I remember correctly.

Any pics of the Strut tower brace yet? There were a few posts earlier saying they would have some by this past weekend.

I'm not bitchin, just curious. I'm really bad at posting pics after the fact myself.

I can't see why it wouldn't. It isn't like it is a Roots type blower like the Stillen system that would sit on top of the block.

Last I heard, they were still waiting for a G35C to test fit it on. I haven't been over there in awhile, though.

The hood clearance would be the only real question, I guess. I bet it would work, but am just guessing.

Maybe Doug or VandyZ will check in.

Had a G in the shop the other day... Doug took a quick peek.

From what I understand the plenum will fit fine.

Redesigning the plenum is the very first thing I thought about when I popped the hood on the Z. However, more volume did not cross my mind until now. That nutty 90 degree turn at the throttle body really bothers me. I did see where it was said that somehow it won't fit if it is redesigned to accept air from the front. Anyway, has anyone considered Extrude Honing the intake??? I know its $360 but it should at least present a 5-10hp gain at the wheels. I have a friend who had his Civic intake Extrude Honed and it is absolutely polished on the inside. The outside, of course, is unchanged. Just a thought and as a side note; the Extrude Hone process would not produce as mush HP as the Crawford simply due to the increased volume even though the honing increases speed and a slight volume increase.

Default Air from the front

I thought about that too, but the VQ has that timing chain that runs across the tips of the V in front. Therfore you would have problems fitting it under the stock hood.

Now what we need is a plenum that has an extra cog/gear sticking out the front, then you put on a longer timing chain and get your space back between the front of the heads to run your air through.

How is the air/fuel ratio affected with the redesigned plenum?

Thanks.

Is there a website that has these parts on it ? If not that may be a worthwhile investment....so people can read about them and get prices/ordering info more easily....I read all 8 pages and still don't know if they are available to the general public and how to go about ordering one

Sorry guys... we've been out of town all weekend WITHOUT the internet.

Is that a good thing or bad????

The plan is to have the new site deployed by the end of this week... it will have everything we have posted available on it.

Stay tuned.
