Default Hit the dyno today

Went out with some other Z's from town and hit the dyno. I'm trying to upload the pics of the graphs but my computer is being retarded at the moment. A Mustang Dyno was used.

Best 4th Gear pull was 236whp/215tq

5th Gear pull was 254whp/226tq

I always thought dynos were to be done in 5th gear but they said the 4th gear would be more accurate. I'm no dyno genius so I have no idea. I thought I would be right at about the 250whp mark with my mods, so I was a little disapointed when they said the 4th were the correct ones and it was a mere 236.

Mods:
JWT PopCharger
Helix V2 Test Pipes
Injen SES True Dual
JWT Light Flywheel

The dyno tech is an idiot. He should know that in most 6 speed cars 5th gear is the closests to direct drive as you can get. In a 5 speed car fourth gear is direct drive. Cars need to be dynoed in direct drive (or as close as possible) to get an acurate reading. Seems like he is going off of 5 speed old school technology.

As for your numbers they seem about right, most people think they are making more power than they are with NA bolt on mods.

yeah, the dyno operator sucks at life. 5th gear for our cars is closest to 1:1

So really the 254 numbers are correct? Because thats exactly where I thought I would be. They were teasin me earlier saying the 254 could be my internet ***** numbers, but the 236 were the real deal.

No, on the Mustang dyno, 4th is more accurate. Remember, this is a load based dyno. Higher gears will yield higher HP numbers. This is the same dyno I made 281 HP on in 5th and everyone here gave me sh*t about it being too high. After making 263 in 4th, I went to a dynojet and made 252 in 5th (although my tune was starting to go away due to my ECU compensating around my UTEC). On a Dynojet, you want to be at 1:1. Mike, the 4th gear numbers are more accurate here. Mine made 249 whp in 4th with more parts than you have before the tune. 236 sounds about right for your mods.

Calibration errors on the graph [unequal left and right scales] cause the 2 graphs to not craoss at 5252 rpm.................funky and confusing.

Both numbers are wrong. UNCORRECTED Mustang dynos for stock Z's are around 210-220whp. These #'s seem inflated to simulate a DJ #. Id rather see what your true numbers are, not some corrected crap that most shops put out just to keep customers happy. Although your 4th gear seems rather reasonable, your 5th gear pull shows that they are adding corrections. Too many variables with corrections and even what weight they input into the dyno for your vehicle...

To me that seems a little low if 238whp is correct. Completely stock I ran 240whp. I have an 03 Z.
