Question about Auto Tranny Coolers.
I have a 5AT that I'm about to go FI on and I've already ordered the vb upgrade from level 10 and now I"m reading that this will cause excessive heat. So I'm trying to look into getting a tranny cooler. I can't seem to find anything on google or this site about them accept that some people use a B&M auto tranny cooler. When i looked it up they have them at a very reasonable price but it doesn't say specifically that its for a 350z. Is this a one size fits all sort of thing or what? If not does anyone know where i can get a tranny cooler for the AT?

+1 on cancelling the Level 10. What you should really look into is a good torque converter. Coolers are universal, so you will have to cut tubing to the desired length. There is no specific Z kit that I'm aware of.

ok thanks for the information. I think I'm gonna stick with the level 10 for right now though. I have heard some good and bad reviews about it and its most convenient right now because they will send it to you and let you send in the stock valve body and get your deposit back. What size tanny cooler would be appropriate for a Z?

I was gonna go with forged but its not on there site under auto transmission stuff anymore. And once again I'm trying to have the least down time as possible as this is my DD. I don't need anything to extreme anyway I'll probably only be making 350-365 to the wheels

I think its to late to switch anyway... All i want it something that will allow it to shift about like it does without being boosted. I'm pretty sure this will allow me to do that at least right? I don't want one that is jerky like i've heard about the SGP

+100000000000 ^^^ You should stay with the OEM one and save your $$$.I have the SGP VB,EdgeRacing Torq.Conv. and a B&M tranny cooler. In less you plan on racing you really don't need any of them, with the whp your putting down I say just save your money. When I get home I will give you the part # of the tranny cooler if your still interested.

I would deffinitely appreciate the part number on the tranny cooler... But from what I'm reading the OEM VB wont shift under full throttle with anything over like 330 hp. Now I'm not gonna be racing it but I drive my car like I stole it so I want to be able to shift without having to worry about bouncing off the rev limiter.

Since the AT has two thermistors to measure ATF temperature, the first thing to do is to data log the ATF temperature and see how much you are exceeding the 176F standard.
Then you can calculate the SIZE of any cooler you might need.

I would also recommend a new torque converter to help with the new power. The FP valve body upgrade is excellent.

actually if you would read the question its not about a VB upgrade at all its about a tranny cooler. So this would not be an example of me asking a question and not liking the answer to it, because most of you aren't answering the question. And you guys must have missed a crucial piece of info FORGED DOESN'T OFFER THE VB UPGRADE ANYMORE they were having some "issues" with it. So I guess you geniuses don't know as much as you think after all.
