How to make HR power with a DE - insider info from NISMO
The Rev-up cams are different than both the stock DE and Nismo cams. Nismo doesn't even have cams for the Rev-Up motors if I remember correctly, because the Rev-Ups have the VTC on both the intake and exhaust cams, unlike the regular DE which is only on the intake cams.
Do you have a base line before the cam install? It would help compair the effect of the cam swap. I want to do this but I would like to know before I start the 10hrs of work.

Guys I know I don't post over here that much, but it doesn't mean I'm not known in the Z community. Thank you Tom for atleast giving another perspective to my defense -
Guys I have several friends that work with Nismo - Currently they have the SCCA 350Z with them and they made this discovery - it's not something I can attest to, but I'm am completely willing to determine it with my own personal labor with before and after dyno's -
After I posted this bit, someone said they had done it, I would presume that they did a before and after dyno correct?

Well em-efers dyno proved that he gained power but with all his mods including intake, exhaust, headers, cams, etc. I think I remember him also having high compression pistons.
Just adding a REVUP exhaust cam to the 287 motor and skipping a tooth on the cam sprocket will not get the same power as a HR.

Imagine if we believed all those newbs thinking the "turbonator" actually added power. What kind of world would that be?
BTW I added 4 turbonators and I gained 87whp, but I don't have dyno sheets.

You won't make HR power with just those parts. It will make the car run a tad better but torque will sputter out when it starts getting up top.
I've actually met the OP and seen him at work. And his past work history and current job definitely makes his claims a lot more believable. I realize he doesn't post here very often but atleast someone has done it before and has dyno numbers.

But it does seem as if he knows a thing or two.
Well just my $.02, i think this is kind of a good descovery because even if it gains ~10 HP and makes some more torque, its still more. More for less. And in the NA world, isnt that what everyone B!tches about? Go turbo gain 100HP for $XXXX or gain 10 HP NA? I see the same argument quite often and with this new idea, you can get more power for cheaper, therefore justifying the NA routes alittle more. You can get the REV-UP cams from a salvaged 350z, or from http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...06&catalogid=1
for $150 a cam. Cheaper then aftermarket, and roughtly the same gains if you do the timing.
Now what i wonder is...bum bum bum! lol. Putting the Rev-up intake cams in also! (If possible, i dont know if you can or not but what if?) or maybe even...BUM BUM BUMMMM! The HR Cams! Holy Guacamole Batman!

Okay, it's one to be doubtful, but now everyone seems to be just mocking the OP. Who wants to read 100 posts about everyone mocking someone who's trying to help out the forum?
