Please just add your vehicle to the list, keep this a short and sweet post for ease of documentation. I am trying to consolidate all the issues without going through the 100 plus pages. Please just copy the list and add your vehicle so that we can have a consolidated database of known issues.

What I'm curious is that all the oil consumption cars are from Rev-up engine, while I have non-rev up...
It wasn't burning when I first bought it from the previous owner. I don't know what I did, but now it's burning oil.

I suspect you'll be just like the other hand full of people who start one of these lists and after a few pages of responses, it will die off. None of you have realized yet why these things don't work. I'll give you a hint - you can't produce a useable "database" in a thread of 1000 posts.

That's why the Poll feature is usefull. You create a poll and have people vote on it. One look and you can see the results. Compare that to a 500 post thread where each person lists their choice individually.
Well I'll will attempt to make one additional point on the subject and then I'll shut up.
This forum, if done right would have made for a powerful voice in the "oil consumption problem of rev-up engines".
It represent maybe the largest group of Z and G owners anywhere. Organized, it would have the potential to move a company the size of Nissan to act in, a shall we say, a more responsible manner. A registery of names along with a 'big stick" approach, I believe could compell Nissan to take action in a manner that would resolve our dilemma.
But yes, you are correct, a survey without the ability to delete and organize is useless. My point to you, as a moderator, is that if personally involved in this problem, you would have the tools to accomplish this. And in the end, be able to feel a sense of purpose for the forum other than just to derive profit and share information. Imagine, a tangible "Atta boy"!

I will make a poll....no need for us to fight. My point was to get a consolidated numnber of:
Years
Makes
Tranny
Blown N/A motors due to oil issues
Replaced Long Blocks
Rebuilt motors from the advise of the manufacturer
Fixed oil consumption from replaced long blocks
My goal is so that we collectively can not fight with nissan/infiniti and say hey.."You have replaced 150 motors and not one has fixed the issue"
We need more than a leg to stand on...we can fight for whats right one at a time. I am thinking of using my prepaid legal and all of us collectively can form and sue for our defective products? I bet, if we get at least 30 people we could get a lawyer that would take the case. I live and work in DC, I know alot of attorney and political yahoos..give me a week to stir up some legal issues.
I will create the poll, no later than Wednesday of next week. Headed to St. Louis for my 2 yr Anniversay with the wife.....plus put 1800 more miles on the new long block....getting the oil check in StL and the day I get back on Wed.
thanks all.

I believe this was done for the transmission issue... I'm pretty certain Nissan hasn't said "Hey, we'll replace all the transmissions..."
As Dave stated, there were plenty of oil consumption threads...

For the record I havent forgotten this thread....just getting back from vacation. Question for the mods, before I post again. Shall I add a poll to this thread? New Thread, or just forget the entire idea? Also I just put 2K miles on my new engine from Japan and its remained constant even with some 3rd gear pulls and engine braking through the mountains of VA/WVA...maybe they found a solutions....see sticky thread on Oil Consumption.
