Thanks for the well wishes guys, I hope everything runs smoothly and no one gets hurt...
Sharif is correct. We will be doing this just like they do for Speed Week.
A couple of runs down the short track with a max speed of 150mph. After each pass it will come back in for tech inspection to see how everything is holding up and review the engine diagnostics. Provided everything is going well we then hit the long track and push it a little and see how it handles before going ***** out. We have all day to get the required 2 back-to-back runs completed.
I have a GT wing in the rear plus the additional weight to keep the rear down. My concern is also the front lifting... so I will be watching this carefully. I expect we will drop the ride height in the front to try to give some additional downforce. Maybe some canards...? I am not sure right now.
But the end result is that if the car feels twitchy or unstable I will have to backoff. Self preservation overrides any crazy goals I have.
I have had my car up to 179mph, but I have to admit I was nervous at that point and did not hold it there very long (running out of clear roadway....LOL)

I remmember seeing someone do this on TV with an older (early 90s) camaro, the only thing I remmember about it was that they had to put tape on all the seams around the hood for aero purposes. Good luck

I might look into trying to get front canards.. but still not sure if they would fit or give me the benefits I need.

Quite the adventure - good luck! I would think the best aerodynamic mod would be to drop the car lower to the ground - as low as you can go.
What kind of logging are you guys going to do? The innovate aux box has a 2axis accelerometer built in. If you calibrate it correctly, I think you could log the lateral axis and vertical axis (rather than the traditional forward and lateral) and detect G forces to within 0.01g. This should detect and track unwanted vertical movement that you may not be able to feel, particularly if you chart in real time...

Ill be on the rally also. Should have a video camera, so ill try and get some personal footage and put it up as soon as I can. Good luck bro, ill be pulling for you! You know you can use some of the space in my car if you/Sharif needs anything extra in fuel/tools/whatever. Just let me know.
