Stormcrow fixed the knocking sound in my Z
The link I posted explains it perfectly with pictures. Page 3 has a pic with circles around where the hoses go. The catch can goes in between the PCV valve and the intake plenum. If you remove the engine cover you will see a hose that comes from the valve cover on the passenger side (pcv valve) and goes to the intake plenum in the front.
When you install this connect a hose from the pcv valve into the catch can. Then the output part of the can connects to the plenum. There is an arrow on the can that shows the proper direction. Thats all there is to it.

yeah...it's real easy to do. i'll take some more pics this week if you still need them. i wasn't able to today because i worked til 1 am...

Yes we do. Without control over timing, its probaly even more important for an NA car, since you are relying on the stock for timing control, and stock knock detection.

to those wanting to know how it works, i think jonathon did a good job explaining... basically, the oil entering into the plenum reduces the octane of the fuel and this causes the pinging due to detonation... having the catch can filtering out this small amount of oil allows for the fuel to retain its true octane rating and in turn, no pinging...
jonathon added race fuel so that we may know, instantly, whether or not the noise we were hearing was truly pinging... even though we were 99% positive it was, there is always the small chance that it might be another issue... and since we didn't open the plenum to clean out the existing oil, the race fuel gave him a bit of time without pinging while the air cleaned out the rest of the oil in the plenum... luckily, once the race fuel ran out, the plenum was clean enough to not dump any more oil into the intake runners... so, his issue was cured...

That is the same compressor filter I got from HomeDepot, they don't sell the old one (the one in the DIY). When I had that Filter, I noticed that there are some air coming out of the bottom especially on Cold start, I didn't like it coz of that hissing sound. Then one day when I was at Autozone, I saw the old filter and bought it and swap it, now no more hissing.
