i searched for a few hours trying to find a thread that matched my prob...but no luck..... yesterday i started my car a went to pull out of the parking lot and soon as i pulled off there was all kinds of rattling going on for a second.... that stopped but now theres another sound...everytime i push the clutch in i hear a loud squeaking sound almost like a sound from a old door opening or something..... sounds like s#%t and im not sure what it is.....hopefully not my clutch going .... anybody had this happen before?thanx for any help

 

As for the squeak I would first check around the joint where the clutch pedal pivots. Mine did that, and a bit of grease cured it.

There is a adjustment screw, that I have heard can come loose, this changes the grab point height on the clutch. If it was loose, I would guess it would cause the clutch to not engage properly and cause the rattling--this is just a guess.

I would check around the clutch pedal area, from what your saying nothing points to a actual clutch problem

If it is a squeaky linkage they should cover it. If it's a bad clutch diaphram not.

no warranty..... i have off work tomorrow so i guess im gonna check a few things out

 

Does this noise sound like it is coming from under the car? Mine does, and it just started today.

 

Anyone have an update on this? Everytime I let the clutch out I hear the squeeking, it sounds like rubber on rubber... damn its annoying + embarassing!

 

i brought my car in for the same problem and they tell me OH we dont hear any squeeking sorry cant fix what we dont hear

 

they wont fix your clutch because its a "wearable item" and because rosen nissan is a bunch of bastards.

 

I took the z in for the same problem today. The squeak is getting pretty loud and embarrassing.
I figured while it's up in the air getting the oil changed, they could just spray the clutch assembly down with some wd40 or something.

First, the tech manager comes out asking if my clutch was stock or modified...here we go. I told him that it's still OEM.

Wouldn't you know those monkeys come out telling me that I might need to replace the clutch as they tried to grease it up with no luck I was thinking to myself "you've got to be kidding me". But they still wanted to sell me some new belts, coolant flush and some other crap.
Of course, by the time I left, my Z was still squeaking. It just pisses me off that the one time I've got a minor problem with the Z, they couldn't do anything about it. Good thing that I bought the extended warranty

Also, I would have tried to fix it myself, but all my ramps were shipped off.

has this problem been found? i recently drove my car and now notice a squeaky sound when releasing the clutch. for some strange reason the clutch also feels kind of "sticky" near the grab point. its hard to explain, but it kind of takes the smoothness out of the clutch pedal when in a gear and trying to engage. i find that it is more difficult to make the car smooth. any suggestions? thanks.

 

I had the same squeaky clutch about a year ago, took it in to Nissan during an oil change, they did something to the clutch (took a whole day cuz they dont knw the problem). May have just greased it or adjusted something, i got it bak and squeak was gone! a year later now I have the squeaks again! damn.... and what they did a year ago to fix wasnt documented too....

mine is doing the same thing, and this started after they repair the rev issue max rpm tires no spinning in gears, and the second one the clutch stuk to the floor, now it has this weird sound, i've beat the car a bit to see if its the clutch againg in a few races. but still no breaking down, maybe i'll have to abuse it a bit more.

 

anyone find a fix for this yet? i know its been awhile somebodys bound to have answers. I took it to the dealer and they said they probably won't cover it.
