Default Help: Clutch

Background: My car has about 30,000 miles on it and I go to drift events about once every 3-4 months, but i NEVER clutch kick, and always try my best to rev match every downshift.

so the problem:

Yesterday I was driving in bumper to bumper traffic for about 20minutes and the clutch pedal started to stick halfway out and the engagement point was like an inch or so lower. Since we never got about 18mph i never bothered to take it out of first. What happened? Why did the pedal stick and was it wrong to stay in first? once i got up to 70mph, and was in 6th the clutch became firm again and everynow and then (probably my paranoia) it feels like the pedal is softer than usual.

Does this sound like something i should take to nissan and have them look at? I'm still under the basic 36,000mile/2-year warranty.

Oh, after looking at this thread and your other. It's either burnt fluid, bad clutch hydralics, or pressure plate is going out. Forget the adjustment theory.

I'd say check the color of the fluid first.... then flush it is it is brown at all.

Yea, i'm going to trying the swap out fluid technique today. On another note, what is the general concensus on the JWT street clutch/flywheel combo? (14.3 lb flywheel and 1200kg pressure plate for ~$800)

It's a lot cheaper than what i've seen for OEM

Most OEM parts are a lot more expensive. Usually they dont' even expect you to pay the prices.
check my thread out on the JWT combo.

As for the fluid change, make sure you don't depress the clutch with too much force while bleeding.
