Default Overheating issue, need advice.....

Hello guys,

My Z just started overheating and there is a considerably amount of coolant pouring from the bottom of the radiator. I haven't got the car on a jack stand yet but I need some advice in what to look for ones I do so. Any suggestion are very welcome. Maybe now is the time for me to get a Koyo radiator.

Sounds like your old core is leaking causing the overheating? Introducing air into the coolant system through a leak would definitely raise temps and lower the boiling point... Neither of which is good.

Yeah Koyo is good. Get the upgraded core size - 53mm.

Just FYI, Koyo does also make a thin version which is supposed to be as good and doesn't take up as much space. I bought the thick 53mm version and have had ZERO fitment issues, but to my understanding, the thin version is supposed to be just as good.
Good luck.

If you plan on Vortech in the future you must get the 36 mm version. The intercooler piping barely fits with the V-core Koyo.

^Or upgrade to a new thinner Flex a Lite Fan at the same time. Booger and I have no problems running this larger setup

Well guys, I got underneath the car to check and it appears that the coolant is leaking through out the entire length of the radiator, the area where the core and the bottom plastic come together.

Sorry to hear that - But, think of it as an 'opportunity' to get an upgraded rad!! :-)

I got a stock radiator that I can sell you for $70 if you want to pick up here in Austin.

Thanks Biochem for your offer but I just purchased the Koyo 36mm upgrade for my Z. Hopefully I will be installing it next week.
