McFly....er McFly this (cruise control) is holding the valves open when going downhill to maintain the set speed of the cruise control.
So the jerky feeling is the computer doing it's job right while using cruise control and driving down a hill, this is the way the software was written for this application.

I am quite happy with this feature, now if you are talking about a feature that should not be on the Z it is the VQ35DE without twin turbos from the factory. The Z ia a runner from the facory but I sometimes feel cheated cause I have not yet gone FI

You were cheated. Strap those twins on, it is the way the Z is supposed to be.

I know this is an old thread but its the only one I could find on this topic. I just got a 06 track from my dad. I'd noticed when he tried to shift quickly from 1st to 2nd that the engine would rev up while the clutch was disengaged and just thought he had his foot partly on the accelerater. But now that I'm driving it I see that's not the case. It can't be the flywheel weight cause that will only make the flywheel slow at a different rate, not rev up. It has to be that the power is still on so to speak even though foot is off pedal. Sounds like fly by wire or some ecu issue doesn't it? Is my 350 in need of help? (Course if u take foot off accelerater, wait 1/2 sec then depress clutch all is well but this is supposed to be a performance car. Its completly pathetic)

I recently picked up a clean '03 Track model, and it does the same thing. After driving manuals for years, it feels like i have to learn to shift again. Not a big deal, but a little irritating. Going to look into a Blitz type device, or possibly an ECU reflash at some point. Don't think it's heavy flywheel, as it happens anytime you first open the throttle, pulling out from a stop, changing gears, or mid-turn when the engine/flywheel speed is already high.
