Default My first Dyno

Well I finally took my car in for a Dyno and I'm not so sure that I'm pleased with my results. My mods are Injen CAI, Headers, test pipes, Borla TD, Plenum spacer, Fidanza flywheel, ACT clutch, and unichip. I think I can get better power if I switch the unichip for a utec, or osiris.

I was hoping for 270 but I from what I'm seeing it's like you said those numbers are spot on.

even know you were probably expecting to be in the 270s, those are solid numbers, nice steady pull.

Looks like a nice pull. With some tuning (UTEC), I could see 270whp on your future. not too bad, right here though.

I'm feeling alot better about my numbers now that I've read some of remarks. Thanks for the reassurance. All the pulls were done in 4th gear at 4:00 in 85 degrees Fla weather. I had been driving around town all day prior to my dyno session so at least I feel like I got an honest read. Also I gave it only a few minutes in between pulls instead of letting the car cool down.

think of it this way, your Z was probably doing 220hp to the wheels when you first got it. 40hp gain.

Those numbers are fine... if you don't have a custom tune on the unichip get that done. I doubt you would see any increase with an EMS change considering the unichip can control everything you would need controlled on a N/A setup

I'm not bashing the unichip it just doesn't have the ability to rise my rev limit or bump up my Idle which I really need cause my car seems to stall out on deceleration while coming up on intersections. I've read many threads on this issue and it seems to be a common problem which is resolved with a bump up on idle. Oh and yes I have called several local Nissan service centers to see if they can do it and they won't, one dealer even said they would have to dyno and diagnose my car for around $500.00. FI is also in my future so I need to take that into consideration as well.

The 'idle problem' you're having seems to hound people w/ CAIs, although not everyone with a CAI has it. I wrote something up on it before, and iirc it's caused by the installation. With your mods, you should NOT have to bump your idle. I had mods very similar to yours, and until I removed the AEM CAI, my car stalled a few times on deceleration. After some troubleshooting, I replaced the intake with a Stillen, and no more idle issue. Maybe if you solved that, you would reconsider moving the rev limit and the Unichip would work for you. I'm not endorsing any one product over another, I personally use Osiris. Good power and nice looking curve by the way.

Try resetting your throttle body. It really helped my stalling issues.

i have i/e/h/testpipes/spacer plus utec tune by eli@redstar and put down 270whp/265tq. i had one map that put down 280 but wasnt safe to run daily. this is on a non revup, which you are right (non anniversery sp??). my dyno without tune was 240whp/234tq (my afr was 11.5-12). i however level out at 6k rpms. hopefully my cams and valve train will fix that. ill pm you my dynos before and after sometime next week when we do intsall and tune.

yeah dude, those are pretty good numbers....better than mine. So, Sharif! plenum spacer, headers, test pipes, exhaust, and utec, and my revup will run 275 whp with a smooth line like that?
