Default Auto tranny shifting hard randomly, freakin me out

hey guys, for some reason today while i was driving my car about 4 or 5 times it shifted relatively hard... it happened while visiting and driving in a hilly area... it is an automatic transmission and it is worrying me... it seemed totally random and felt funny... only did it about 4 or 5 times though over about a 20 mile round trip so it shifted many many times fine... should i be concerned?

i think you should be fine usually the transmission will change how hard it shifts depending on your driving style. The harder you drive it the harder the transmission will shift. If you are going up hills its the same as driving the car hard.

check AT fluid level per the FSM, exactly. any codes or AT light on?

How many miles and when is the last time you had a flush or drain/fill (recommendation is every 2 yrs for flush or every yr for drain/fill)

Im sure your car is fine just make sure you check you trans fluid. Your car is probably just adapting to your driving up and down hills. Drive in manual mode if it bothers you i always drive in manual mode so the trans never gets use to how i drive.

this may sound retarted, but where exactly is the transmission fluid stick to check the level located? I cant seem to find it, am i missing something? It was brought to Nissan last time it was drained/refilled so that is why i dont know where it is located...

Against the firewall, Passenger Side. Kinda Round with a 10mm bolt holding it in place.

just checked it while the engine was cold and it was above the crisscrossed x area.. which i am assuming means it is over filled? I will check it again when the engine is warm
