Need More Help with SWAP!!
Ok...i found a VQ35 out of a Z with auto tranny....i have CVT auto with my altima coupe. I know the engine will fit since the 3.5 has the toned down VQ.
My question is ...can i use a Z VQ with FWD and/or what mods will be needed to make it work?
thanks guys

but why waste your time and money swapping one 35 for the other? all you have to do is change the way the altima engine breathes (since that is the main restrictor) and you got Z power. a lot cheaper as well. basically what the early G35C group did when it had less hp than the Z. some raised theirs to match what the Z did stock, so i don't see why it can not be done with the altima 3.5
***EDIT** never mind, i see yougot the 2.5 sorry, there is no help for you since i doubt the transmission for a 4 cylinder will mate to the v6 anyway. no reason to waste your money. should have bought the 3.5 instead, it would be a lot cheaper than to go this route

While the basic VQ block is much the same, most of the other critical pieces (heads, intake and ancillary systems) are quite different between the FWD and RWD versions. You'll find problems mating up engine, tranny and exhaust mounts and even bigger problems getting the ECU to work properly. Bottom line: unless you have a unlimited budget for what is certain to be BIG BUCKS on a custom install, I wouldn't even start.
It's not that we can't all dream- just don't expect that a precision engineered application can be swapped that easily.

Should not have bought a 2.5 altima coupe when you obviously desire a Z, I have the 2.5 coupe as a DD and love it. Great on gas mileage, etc. you are wasting your time/money looking for a swap imo
edit: Sell your coupe and buy a Z

This is all assuming non-revup and non-HR
