I am having a new motor installed now, but I still enjoy the Z. Had I known about the problem I would have waited for a 2007 HR.

On board and no OC problems! I mostly hear about ignorant Z owners who label us 05' & 06'ers as problematic, but little do they know that overall the OC issue only effected a very small percentage of owners compared to the amount sold worldwide. Support the 06' rev ups

hello everyone,

i recently been looking for a 6mt 350z/g35 and found a 2006 350z 6mt 68k miles.
i need some clarity, i called nissan north america and gave them the vin # they said that there is no outstanding recalls for it and i asked them if this car would be affected with oil consumption they said it shouldn't be. then i called a local nissan dealer and had them run the vin # and the said the samething. the 350z was built in September of 2005. anyone has had oil consumption with a september 2005 build??

There's no way to tell without testing the engine. Running the VIN won't tell you anything.

I'm trying to decide whether or not to purchase a 6mt 350z/g35 with the rev-up motor.

Any regrets? Knowing the possibilities of having oil consumption issues would you go ahead and purchase one?

In addition to your opinion it would be nice to know your experiences with the oil consumption issue.

Thanks in advance...
It runs fine with oil consumption and I knew the possibility of it happening. I wouldn't do it again though. Adding oil every 2 days is kind of annoying.

It usually starts consuming oil around 75k miles.
