Default Borla True Dual OFFICIALLY sounds like a Ferrari

People keep on comparing the exhaust note of the 350Z to that of an exotic, so I decided to do a bit more research on it...
AFter watching Bad Boys II (Maranello chase scene) and then over the weekend hearing 2 lamborghini murcielago's and 3 360 modena's in person, i'm quite happy to say that the 350Z w/ borla exhaust has at least 90% of the sound of an exotic, at least up to it's measly redline (As compared to that of a Ferrari or Lambo).... Take a listen to these sound clips for details..

This is a 360 Modena:

(Copy the link and save the file to play).

This is the 350Z w/ borla dual courtesy dr. bonz:

If someone could also find that sound clip of the 350Z in red revving in a garage...

That one sounds like this Ferrari clip:
(Which also sounds remarkably similar to the stock 350Z w/ the resonator removed..notice the raspiness in the Ferrari clip below)

(Save file once again)

Man, nice sounds for all three clips.

I now know that my Injen SES with Cat Pipes sounds absolutely NOTHING like any of these.

I really need to get a sound clip posted.

HEY! I think I've seen that Brickyard Z somewhere before!

There is another clip of mine reving in my garage. Not sure if that's the one you mean but it's Brickyard not red.

That isn't a very good representation of an F360 in the first sound clip. I have quite a bit of experience with them.

I can ensure you, the Z will never sound like a Ferrari. That's okay though, because nothing else sounds like a Ferrari either

The Borla still sounds great IMHO.

That's OK, maybe nothing else sounds like a 350Z with Borla Duel. I think the secret is the Borla with a nice throughty sounding intake. You know on those ferrari's alot of that sound is intake with all the sick intake those things have. Or it's just me having a hard time separting the exhaust and intake tones. In any case, Ferrari's sound Ferrareaking SICK!!!

That's interesting... because my friend's father has a 550 Maranello and i've always though the two sounded quite alike... I think the G35 Coupe sounds even more like a Ferrari than the Z.

Mind if I edit that to use as my Windows startup sound?

Funny, before the burn in on my exhaust, my car sounded so much more like a ferrari. The growl above 4000 rpm was a higher pitch growl with an exotic rasp and I couldnt stop flooring it.
The Borla dual still sounds good now but I preffered the spound right after I had it installed! No more exotic rasp and the pitch lowered a bit.

Anyone else notice this?

I don't know much about 550s myself, being a 360 freak at all The 550 probably has a more sophisticated note, considering the target market. However, I'd be absolutely SHOCKED if they sounded even somewhat similar to the Z.

Can you say TWICE as many cylinders and 60% more displacement?

Almost all new exhausts change sound. In my experience, they become slighly more subtle within 1,000 miles or so.
