Perfect Power ECU update!!! WOW !!!
My car was on the dyno all day today getting the SMT6 tuned and all I can say is that we are EXTREMELY HAPPY with the results. We gained over 15 peak hp and over 18 peak ft lbs. of tq. and a whopping 32+hp gain and 34+ft.lb.tq. gain at 4900 rpm's.. We are very excited to bring you this piggyback ecu very very soon. I will have more pics and driving reviews in the days to come. I will also have more info and of course pricing in the very near future. Please check out our websites to view the dyno results! Notice the gains throughout the whole rpm range... And yes, this was done in 5th gear. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The ecu is not able to change the rev limit. And the only mods on the car right now is a Injen CAI, UR crank pulley, grounding kit, and removed resonator. The base pull of 237 was done with those basic mods.

I'll be a guineau pig with the mods below if you guys need some additional test Z's.
I'll do dyno's immediately with and without so you can have a 3rd party unbiased report of results. If the results are even in the realm of your dyno, your going to make HELLA money on this product!!!!

Here's more info on the SMT6
www.perfectpower.com/products/smt6.asp
I have posted info about this previously but we just had it installed and tuned! We will be selling this unit preprogrammed(with this same map) and ready to install buy yourself or any mechanically inclined person. You can also order it with a bypass plug to make it undetectable by the dealer. Please read the info on the unit itself at the above site as this will answer many questions on what this unit does and how it works. We are working with IDA automotive( the only US importer for Perfect Power) to bring you this amazing piggy back ecu.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please stay tuned for more updates!!!!!!!!!

is this thing for real????!!!!!!!!
after all I have read I thought piggy back style ecu's would not work on the Z. I guess I was reading info incorrectly.
this sounds AWESOME.
Is it real?
really?
OK - How much?

Yes this is for real!
I have proved it today on the dyno, and other local members will be able to see it soon for themselves! Hopefully I will get to the track tomorrow to see how much better I can do than my 13.9.
And pricing will be out as soon as we are done testing! I am picking it up tomorrow morning, I can't wait to drive this thing(especially around 4900 rpm's)

Hey Jay,
Awesome results! I thought you were going to have it done Thursday? Anyways.. sounds like you're going to be having fun at the track Let me know when you you're planning on going and i'll come along too. I can't wait to see the dyno numbers when we map this ecu out with the procharger.

does/can this change the air/fuel mixture?
what about mods? you seem to have a few so I imagine it will all work togeather, yes?
any potential problems that can (not saying they will) arise from this type of ECU upgrade? I am just not familiar with this and want MORE INFO!!!!!
thanks

To add further comments, I have also updated the website to include the air fuel ratio dyno graphs to show that this was done by actually adding fuel. The stock tune on the car is pretty lean for our tastes so additional fuel was added across just about the entire rpm range. This should be of interest to those of you who may be interested in adding a little FI or N20! More fuel equals more protection against detonation.
Now if I can just get to the shop before jason and be the first one to test drive with the piggy back ecu!!

congrats on a successful ECU tune
when can we see a modified stock versus stock dyno?
do u have any combined graphs? with torque and hp on the same graph
oh yea. few more ?'s
how are you not pinging with an A/F that high? what type of gas you guys running and will it work for 91 octane californians?
