Default Engine Heat Soak

Is it my imagination or does it seem like the 350Z's suffer big time from heat soak (performance loss). I've owned several other cars but this one seems to suffer more than the others. Is it just the nature of the beast with our cars? Anyone done any mods to reduce this?

Look into thermal wraps. Basically think turbo insulation and then apply it to the headers.

i would have to agree. Living in Florida hot days are common. Even in the winter its still 80degrees My car runs like a beast in 60F and below which are few and far between/somewhat noticable. It may be my imagination also .

Default Air Intake Temperature Vs HP (Dyno Data)

Air intake temperature makes a very substantial difference on the dyno.

^^^ Nice post Tony. Was this before or after the FCON? (Does this reflect the stock ECU pulling timing?)

Im running a vortech and yes it plays a major role...off the line my car feels like stock in 100 degree weather..but once I get rolling about 80+ the air gets cooler and the power comes on hard. Also the car is pretty much not driveable late at night...cool temps provide much desired levels of HP and TQ.

not all cars are the same...yours might have an indoor show car personality.

lol
