Grinding sound at start-up!!??!!??

Question Grinding sound at start-up!!??!!??

sometimes when i start my car after its sat and cooled off (say like over night ), i hear a little grinding sound, just once then nothing. anyone else experience this????

yes me too, like right after it turns over right? can anyone shed some light? Ohh btw i believe this is in the wrong section

i have it sometimes. i figured its my nismo cold air intake hitting the metal in the engine bay. not a biggie for me.

yeah exactly gabez33, its like one turn of the engine then the is starts and grinds. but its always after its sat for a long while like overnight or all day at work.

haven't had this in my Z, but I can tell you when I replaced the flex plate (fly wheel in the Z?) in my 68 camaro, it wasn't PERFECTLY aligned with the starter, and sometimes would grind once on start up

did you get an aftermarket fly wheel?

so does having a TSB mean the dealership has to fix it free?/ Or is it an FYI...my 03 is out of warranty
