Question Rattling Sound Just Underneathe The Shifter.

Hey I own a 2008 350z Base Model 6Speed MT. It has only about 2,500 miles on it. Once I drive the car around and it gets warmed up, I hear this rattling sound just underneathe the car, it sounds it's coming just from under the shifter. But when I press the clutch down, the noise tends to fade until I release my foot off the clutch, then the noise comes back. Is anyone having this issue? How can I get this fixed? Is it normal?

any mods done to the car. I've found that my nismo shifter has been coming loose lately and has been rattling. I just hand tighten it down and the noise goes away.

I've got a similar issue though backwards from you... for some reason it makes me think of the pilot/clutch bearing. Haven't had time to get it checked out lately.
in neutral, clutch out noise present. in neutral, clutch in, noise gone.

Funny that I ran across this post today. I have had an 06 base for almost a year. About 6 months ago, I started hearing this rattling noise from underneath. I just happened to be taking it into the dealer for an oil change. They changed the oil, then drove it to troubleshoot the rattling. Guess what, noise was gone. Now, 6 months later, and due for an oil change again, the noise is back. I'll report back to let you know if changing the oil resolves the rattling again.

No, this is no normal sound. And, does not happen all of the time, as it has only happened twice in the year I have had mine. And, as posted earlier, when I changed my oil it stopped the sound last time. I don't know how the others rattling sounds, but I almost want to compare it to the sound of a diesel engine.

I just bought a used 03 today and mine does the same. Sounds like a clutch throw out bearing starting to wear but I am unsure. It has all the symptoms of one.

Default Oil Change did it

My car was due for an oil change anyway, and since changing the oil stopped the rattling last time, I wanted to see if it would stop it this time. It did. No more rattling from underneath.
