Default help with disturbing engine noise

Everytime when I start the car there is a loud shuttering sound coming from the engine. Ypu can also hear it from inside the car. It stays constant even while I'm driving. It was really noticable whene I let go of the clutch right after shifting. So maybe its the the clutch or maybe its a belt. I haven't done the 30k mile maintenance yet which means no oil change yet either. I thought that it may have been low on oil but there was never any check engine light. the shuttering sound is loud and very noticeable when the clutch is engaged, while driving from a lower rpm (2k-4k rpm) and when slowing down to a stop.

This really scaring me. I'm hoping that once I do an oil change the noise will go away but hope that someone out there experienced the same problem and can help me.

i hope that its not the clutch or tranny and hope that if it is, it'll be covered by warranty.
thanks,
ken

How is the throttle response? Any smoke? Vibration from the motor? Clutch and tranny operating smoothly? Have you looked in the engine bay? belts attached? holes in the block? details...

You haven't ever changed the oil? I would consider checking the oil level... gl!

Little difficult to diagnose a noise without hearing the noise.

the throttle response is still good. no smoke, little vibration from the motor. Clutch operates smoothly, but like i stated before, everytime the clutch is engaged, you can hear the shuttering noise and also feel it from the motor.

i recorded it on my phone, but trying to find a way to upload it. will do so after finals.

Most likely the flywheel. Welcome to the club. I HIGHLY recommend changing the oil though, especially if its conventional.

thanks, the oil i changed it with like 5k miles back was the mobile1 full synthetic 10k mile change interval.

you can really hear it when i start the car in the morning. i recorded it, and will upload as soon as finals is over with tomorrow.

would this be covered by warranty if i take it in since the drivetrain warranty is like 4yrs or something like that.

its a G35 btw.

it seems most likely low oil level. i really dont trust electronics to tell me what my car needs. i can tell when my car is low on oil and it always needs replacing way before the set mileage is giving from the dealership. i think ive heard that sound what you explained is coming from the engine and it was only one time i experienced it. it was due to having low oil. dude, go to a gas station put like 2-3 quarts of oil, wait a bit and start the car. you'll know then. thats what i did and the very next day i changed the oil. peace......

You should check your oil 2 times a week regardless.... Anyways dont just go dump 2-3 QTs of oil in your car. Use the dipstick to measure how much oil you need. Refer back to your owners manual if you dont know how to read the dipstick. Maybe the sound your car is making can be better described as "chatter"? If so it could be your flywheel and its perfectly normal is your flywheel is chattering a lil bit.

i knew that, i just had to put oil in it cause my oil level was real low after checking the stick, it was a temporary solution before i changed the oil the next day.
