JWT or Jun Flywheel, need to know by Monday for Thurs install.
I gotta decide what I want to get, the JWT or Nismo flywheel. I am getting a new tranny installed so I am gonna get the flywheel R&R's for only $35 labor. Now I just need to decide which one. I don't car about drag racing at all, just good road course performance on R compound tires. I would like it to remain somewhat streetable. What do you guys think? I was all set to go Nismo, but now, I just don't know.
Thanks!
Thanks!
I've got the Nismo currently and like it but I'm awaiting a 2nd tranny replacement as well. I think I'm going with the JUN on the next tranny, I had one in hand and it looks like a flawless design and much lighter than the Nismo.
Anyone have any opinions on performance??

Whats with all these tranny replacements? Its kinda got me worried. I have the dreaded 3rd gear grind and im sure i have some other symptoms.
I've been holding out on any tranny mods just incase i do have a problem and my tranny does die on me. With my luck they wouldnt touch my car with a 10 ft pole.
Personally, the flywheel i've really been interested in is the Jun chromolly flywheel. Mostly because i've always heard that chromolly had better weight distrobution than aluminum. That and its stronger i guess? I've been looking for some good reviews, but in my uneducated state, i tend to lean towards the Jun... but then again, i'm pretty knew to this whole import car thing.

I think I am going with the JUN just because it's a forged unit. I have seen aluminum ones come apart before and that scares me. I am not a dragracer so I don't really need a stronger clutch. It looks like SGP is a good place to order from?
Should hold out for the 350EVO 1 pc steel flywheel.........its the strongest 12 lbs.
We are working with Sachs on a performance clutch but the OEM clutch will work.
It will retail in the $500 range..............

If you're doing a flywheel replacement, you migh as well get a new clutch.

Only $395.
Also, ordering from sgpracing is great. Kyle made the entire experience worthwhile. They're standup guys out there in Texas.

I have JUN flywhell installed in mine. I went with JUN cuz it's lightweight (14lbs. instead of 28lbs for stock) and it's forged so it's better than any two/three piece flywheel. Plus, you'll be able to tell the difference right away. It makes your car rev up faster. I raced this other Z33 that had Injen intake on the track, his take off time was .538 and mine was 1.225 and I was pulling up on him.
Raceboy, you said you're not into drag at all? how come you want to change your flywheel? If you're into looks more, you shouldn't change it to lightweight cuz it makes a noise when idle and low rpms.
Anyway whatever you decide to get...good luck. If you decide to get JUN though you can get it at Signal Auto if you're in So. Cali.
Here's a pix of my JUN and RPS upgrade clutch system.

Signal Auto had to order it from Japan. It takes about couple of weeks to get it delivered. But it's well worth it. They install it too. I can give you guys the number and address if anyone has it, i just have to look for it though if anyone's interested.
