Please help! Dealer over filled my oil level, on a 06
Hi guys and gals,
I have posted this question on the "RevUp Oil Consumption TSB and discussion" as well, but not sure if anyone is looking at that thread any more. Sorry if this question have already been answered.
I went to the dealer on wednesday to start my oil consumption process. The service writer seems to know about the consumption and was pretty cool. I always go to this dealer to get my oil change because they have a really good customer service. Anyways, long story short. After they change the oil, and bring the car out, I didn't check the dip stick, because I trusted them (yeah stupid me). So I drove home and just parked it until today. But before I go out I check the dip stick, and it looks like the dealer over filled the oil!!! It is a good 3 to 4 mm higher than the H mark.
What do you guys suggest I should do? Go back to the dealer and be nice, and tell them what is going on? or just ask for the service manager right away?
Please help. I have had this car for 3 months. I'm the second owner, bought it with 7402 miles. My bumper to bumper warranty is still good until next year in jan.
Thanks for any help.

Did you wipe the stick and check it 4 to 5 times ??
Even if its a little high, its not big deal. The probably just added 5 quarts, like everyone else does, and the customer is just being ****

Sorry guys. If it's that much over the H line, then it's overfilled. Overfilling with oil can cause it to get whipped into a froth in the cams and actually start burning oil. I'd make them drain it and refill properly.

Not sure if I can do that because I watched the tech change the oil. He had put red paint on my filling cap, and I saw him painted the oil drainage area as well. My guess is they would know if someone tampered with it or open anything.
:|... it wont do anything if its just a little bit full.... find a fluid evacuator and suck some out of the dipstick if you REALLY dont want to go to the dealer and want to be stealthy
