ive had a new 08 Z for about 2 weeks now nd it was making a really weird noise comming from the passanger side. it pretty much sounded like metal scraping against metal. for the first week everyone told me the Z is a noisy car and its normal, or its the breaks wearing in... a few days ago i brought it to the service dept for them to install an alarm system that the dealer threw in and i also asked them to take a look at wat might be causing the sound. They found a pebble about the size of a quarter lodged in btwn two disks underneathe the car. not sure wat disks he was refrring to but when he told me i didnt believe that was true, but so far so good... 2 days after now and ive been driving without that noise,... wat a relief
c'mon, everybody no's knew breaks take time to brake-in
don't be a looser
^haha well aren't you swift!
Anyways the odds of this happening are pretty good considering all the pebbles flying around on the road. My parents pathfinder had a pebble lodge in above the rear upper strut mount and it made a bad clunching noise. The TSB says to put a soft pad there to occupy that space so no more pebbles can enter... cheap fix lol. My aunts brand new civic was making a horrible grinding noise so she stopped and was going to have the car towed, turns out there was a piece of gravel stuck in the caliper grinding at the rotor everytime she tried to move.
I think I might know where it was. My car didnt make any noise but when i was putting on my skirts, the car was jacked up and i found a big *** peice of gravel stuck underneith the car. About the size of a golf ball.
