yes most will consider this a placebo affect with adding the ground kit but you have to realize that the Z out of the factory has terrible ground support. if you go to japan, they actually give an upgraded grounding kit as an option.
i will say that there is NO performance gains from this, as nobody has posted any dyno sheets reporting a gain, BUT it does clear up static noise and DOES make your car run more efficiently..so placebo affect? performance wise yes, but to the small and over-looked things, yes it has made a slight improvement.

Problem fixed.....
Took it to JMS in Converse, Tx, explain to the mech/tech the issues, was had an issue with his G35 of the same nature with the voltage losses in the cold weather....
Also handed him New spark plugs, PCV valve, and a new intake filter(even though filter I believed was still clean), all for regular maitenence that was due.
Came back 2hrs later everything was done. Said he increased the idle just a lil bit and swaped out plugs/filter and PCV. Took it on a run for about 30minutes. The idle feels good, vibration in the shifter and steering wheel feels smoother yet a tad more aggressive and clean intake filter seems good.
Temp outside was 45 degrees.
Kept an eye on my voltage gauge and it seems to only give when I power my windows and switch to my HID's but jumps right back to its norm. Needle doesn't slowly decline at stop lights. This was the reason I did the GK, NOT for "extra Power"
as far as a "placebo effect", I can't say cause of the other variables I had done. could have been the plugs, filter, or standing idle speed or all thee above. I do know that the GK is not hurting the engine and I wanna say it feels smoother and more efficient, but there are to many other variables that could be overshadowing this end result.
...now... I feel better
