Default vq37 swap into 04 z

searched and came up with nothing. what would be required to make this work, assuming you have the motor, tranny, harness and ecu? this is for a track only car and i plan on keeping n/a, but the power potential in the 3.7l is amazing, and the price of the motor is too good to pas

Search around, I think one of the guys from Nissan Sport magazine did a swap of a HR engine into a 03 body. From what I read, it was quite a difficult transfer because of all the wiring differences. I would assume a VQ37 swap would be even more difficult.

the story is in Issue 12 of Nissan Sport. It was written by David Muramoto (dkmura on this forum), perhaps he can provide you some insight.

Had you searched a little harder, you might have found this thread on the subject.. https://my350z.com/forum/vq37hvr/443...to-a-350z.html

with a pro-efi or something along those lines, im sure many things can be done, especially because the pro efi can play with the cam sesnors, etc. and im sure it is possible seeing as theres been lsx and rb, hell even sr20 motors swapped in. but my track car is just a budget toy, im not looking to r&d anything or spend more than needed. if it was a simple swap and bolt on affair with some minor tweeks, fine. but since its never really been done, that ideas going out the door. i got the motor for a great price, but i can see this getting really expensive. after the pro efi, cost of motor, and everything else, its over 4k. i might as well just get a procharger boost it, and make around 4 to the wheels, and know exactly whats going on in my motor.
