Check engine soon. Can't go higher than 2k rpm
I was driving to wok today and all of a sudden on the highway my check engine soon light came on and my rpm started decreasing. I could jee it above 2000. I had to pull off the rod and call a mechanic. Any one had something like this occur. I'm hoping it's not serious.
I have an 07 roadster. The engine is stock except for aftermarket air filters.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Does the 350z ecu have limp mode? If there is a sensor failure or something seriously wrong, the engine will go into 'limp mode' where you cannot accelerate or drive past a certain speed. Its to prevent damage to the vehicle yet giving enough function to pull off the road.

We did a diagnostic on the codes amd it was p1217. It's the fuel air metering. He reset it the check engine soon light went away. Drove a mile and it happened again. Mechanic drove the car and kept resetting the check engine soon light. Noticed that it was overheating. Pulled over and getting it towed to Nissan dealer in San Diego. Coolant levels were fine.

Happend to my girlfriends 04 tiburon. Ended up needing a new fuel filter and a build up of engine gunk, so i spent a couple hours with it and switched the fuel filter, oil change, and went to local car parts store and bought a fuel filter cleaner and ran it through a tank of premium. That was in may havent had a problem since.
see if you can do it all yourself, hyundai dealer basically was going to do the same and wanted someething like $600
