Default aftermarket clutch?

ok, so i let my friend who has a turbo 2007 civic si drive my car last night, after he drove it he said i definitely have an after market clutch. I bought the car with a 39k miles and dont know the previous history. My clutch seems pretty tight and he said he had driven a stock z before and knows what the stock clutch feels like. Now it got me curious to know if it definitely is aftermarket. Is there any way to find this out with out taking apart the whole trans and also can i determine who makes the clutch? yes i did search and couldnt find anything. any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The Z's clutches are found to be a bit tougher to push. There are some posts on here regarding the Z's clutch.

No. You have to separate the transmission from the motor and look.

spun what tires?

50$ off-brand 145/40/r16?

word?....It's probably a stock clutch. Civic guy drives a civic. The clutch in that car is made for a granny to push, not so much with our cars.

Like I said, the Z's clutch is alot stiffer to depress than a Honda as the member below me.

If you know someone else with a Z you could try test drive theirs. Or you could try test driving the new 370Z. Otherwise, dropping the trans would be the only option and if it's not broke, why bother?

Dude how can an online forum possibly know if you have an after market clutch, think about it. There's no such thing as cyber diagnostics. Your friend that drove a Z once upon a time really remembered the pressure from back then to now. You would take apart the trans just to know if it does. OMG just wow

As someone who has driven a 4dr civic Si,

Our clutch is stiffer.

He's probably just used to his own clutch and thinks yours is much stiffer THAN HIS.

With 39k miles on the car when you purchased it, odds are it is still a factory clutch. The Z's clutch is actually quite durable in an unmodified car.
