I was wondering if anyone has noticed a "clunk" noise coming from inside the engine right beneath the intake box. I noticed this yesterday. I turned off my radio and came to a stop when i started hearing a "clunk, clunk, clunk, clunk" noise. I popped the hood and noticed that the noise was coming from underneath the intake box. Any one else have this problem. Im thinking of taking it to nissan to see if they can find whats wrong. Any info would be appreciated.
I have noticed clicking sound when I reverse my car from the garage.. It's just in the morning, and only one time.. not sure what it is... but I don't have the clunking noise.. if it's repetitive, then something is wrong with your car.... take it to the dealer..

Mine is not a one time thing. It has happened before but didnt pay any attention to it. Now its just gettin annoying and am wondering if someting is wrong with my car. The noise sounds like the noise a car makes when its gonna turn off. Like how u see in the movies when a car is gonna turn off because its malfunctioning. u hear that "clunk clunk clunk" sound then it shuts off. That is how mine sounds.
apexi, i have the same noise... when i go above 1800 rpm for the first time in the morning or when the engine's cold, i get a metallic "clunk" noise... just once, and never again (unless I leave the car off for 3+ hours)
anyway fenandito, i'd take your car to the dealer... seems like noisy, dirty or even clogged lifters... what kind of motor oil are you running? not really related, but i ask because my old car (a mazda) had REALLY noisy lifters... but the noise quieted down a lot after I switched to synthetic

same problem....happens very infrequently......park the car....pull the brake...give it a quick rev...then turn the key off....the engine winds down and then she says "CLUNK Clunk clunk" lol
who knows??

i removed my AEM CIA and the clunk noise has kinda gone away. I cant hear it as much as i did before. What is up with that? Also it idles better as when i had the CIA it would idle a little low. Can someone explain this to me. I put the stock intake back and i miss having my AEM because of the nice sound that it makes after 5500 rpm.

No, i know that transmission sound and i dont think that noise is from the transmisson. It comes from underneath the intake tubing, not the actual intake box where the filter is.
