Default Clutch replacement?

The mechanic at Nissan told me my clutch was going bad he said it was too stiff.

But when I shift, I push it 1/4 of the way down and instantly it disengages, when you throw it from neutral to first it make a thud sound what i thought was normal because it always did for me.

Never drove another Z so i cant really compare on how stiff or light the clutch should be ,but for me its always been tough and stiff to push down, but it disengages instantly and never have to push further then half way.

does your clutch do a slight thud when putting it into first?, how stiff should the clutch be?

This is a judgement call. If the clutch is working properly why replace it?

How many miles on the car?

i ahve 98k on my clutch, and yes, it is FAR stiffer as it begins its death rattle then from stock, you just dont notice really.

That being the case, the OEM flywheel is probably not gonna look so hot.. dunno.
You cant really resurface it, so either buy a new one which is extremely expensive or buy a LWFW, which will be racy and noisy.

you can search other threads about that.
I have mine at intense right now for the JWT clutch n LWFW package for 1200 installed and thier replacing my salve, master, and shifter included. ( i provided parts aside from the JWT stuff)
