Strange grinding noise with Z1 clutch and flywheel?
Ok, it's been a long time since I posted here in these forums. I hope it's in the right area.
I had a shop install a new Z1 stage 1 clutch and lightweight flywheel combo on my 2006 6-speed 350z. Since that day 12,000 miles ago, it has had a constant chatter. (I was told it was the flywheel by Z1 and that I'll always have it because of it being a lightweight flywheel they have and that it was ok).
Well NOW a NEW noise emerged a few days ago. Apparently everytime I press the clutch in it sounds like the flywheel is spinning like a "whine down" kind of noise. Its hard to explain but it's really annoying because it's everytime I press the clutch in it making that wind down noise right when I press the clutch to shift. Like something is spinning on something and when I press the clutch to shift it only makes it than and lately is starting to making it at low rpms now.
I don't know what to do at this point because I have no money to repair it if its something serious. Someone said I have to change the transmission fluid and that should help but at this point I really don't know what else to do.
It's really dissapointing because

the throwout bearing spins against the pressure plate. sounds like your throwout bearing died.
you gotta drop the tranny to replace, so might as well refresh the flywheel and friction plate

did the kit come with the TO bearing? they should have replaced it and or it might just be defective or just went bad. I had someone come in one time to where some shop put the discs backwards.
The TOB starts spinning at the speed of the engine when you step on the clutch pedal.
The transmission input shaft will change speeds as you shift gears while the clutch pedal is down. It gets faster when you downshift, slower when you upshift. It might slow down and stop if you just left it in neutral, but that's not something you'd normally do while driving.
There's nothing in there that "winds down". It's possible you're mistaking the sound of the TOB spinning up, but that should be almost instantaneous.

Maybe you have a vacuum leak. You let off the gas just as you put the clutch in. The intake manifold pressure goes down a lot when you close the throttle, goes back up some as the engine slows, and goes up even more as you step on the throttle again. That sequence might make a "winding down" sound.
