I wonder. I had actually been eyeballing getting one and bookmarked the thread. The link now directs me to a screen that simply says I don't have "permission" to access the page, so I guess it's technically still there.

Last I read twm offered to replace the faulty shifter at no cost and then some, I didn't get the chance to read if the matter was settled and how

Some one else posted a thread asking about the twm shifter thread a couple of days ago...

there are lots of shifters out there but i am interested mostly in the big names such as the stillen, nismo, and b&m shifters that come to mind. i will never buy another stillen product (whole nother thread), the nismo looks good and their quality is usually pretty good + it's nissan (also adjustable), and the b&m had plenty of reviews but mostly negative.

there are some other brands out there as well but not much on reviews for them. lots of people say waste of money buy a shift ****...already got one thanks. i had short shifter on another car and i liked the shorter throws...hence my interest in buying one for my z. the z's throws are short, but a shorter throw would be even nicer.

I've had the TWM for about a month now, works great. I called up TWM regarding the one breaking in half, he assured me it was an isolated incident. Said they've sold hundreds of these shifters and this is the only one that's come back with a problem.

It really does work well and feels great to use, no complaints here. I have mine paired with a TK Hebi Bebi ****.

Any vendor that has threads deleted, even if taken care of and resolved for the customer is removing important info for people making future decisions. I wouldnt support that from anybody, ever.

It looks better to leave it up and show everyone how you handled it. Instead, when questions were brought up regarding their QC and their promises to ensure it wouldnt happen again, they simply ignored the thread from that point forward.

+1 Even if everything was resolved it still smells like a cover up. Plus i never bought the whole "this is the one and only isolated incidence that will ever happen". TWM never gave a good reason as to what happened, so there is no way they can guaranty that another defective shifter isn't sitting on a shelf somewhere.
